I think I need a new watch. Not that the one I'm wearing is spoilt or anything. In fact, the digital clock face is working fine. Just that the strap's a little worn out.
And partly because I've been eyeing an extraordinary piece of design for some time now...
I'm talking about a Nooka watch!
I think I first read about Nooka watches in ish magazine. I immediately thought it was one mind-blowing piece of design! Then later I just kinda forgot about it.
Then one day at Tangs at Orchard (back then, there wasn't a Vivo City branch), I saw, with my own eyes, Nooka watches! I thought they were way cool! It's so different how the time is presented. Different but fresh! It's such an innovative approach. However, it was so pricey that I later forgot all about it again.
Recently I was at Urban Junkie at Far East Plaza. There, you guessed it, NOOKA WATCHES ON SALE! (not discount-sale sale, but just selling-sale sale) They could've had the watches for as long, but really, I only just noticed that they were selling it.
So now, I'm really considering getting me-self one of those precious little things. It retails at S$429. Prices vary depending on the model, but you get the idea on how pricey it is lah, huh.
With such a graphic and intuitive approach to representing the time, I don't think I'll have any trouble at all! Because one big problem with me is: I CANNOT READ ANALOGUE WATCHES!
I mean, I CAN read analogue watches, just that it'll take me a while before I actually figure out the time. I guess I'm literally 'reading' the clock face, eh?
That's why it's so amazing to me that some people can tell the time by throwing a flitting glance at their analogue clock faces. I grow more incredulous as some clock faces are designed WITHOUT numbers on it.
Then there are those that reveal all tiny rotating gears and ticking quartz crystals. That definitely makes reading the clock face MUCH EASIER I guess.
